Types of Roman Blinds
Traditional Roman Blind
As the name suggests, these blinds match the style used when Roman Blinds were first created. They are made with a cord which controls the fabric being stacked up or down the window. It’s still a very popular option today. When the blind is stacked up, the cord is wrapped around a ‘cleat’ which is fixed on or beside the window frame.
Revolution Roman Blind
The ‘Revolution’ Roman Blind came later and is chain controlled which makes it ideal for wider windows or when using heavier weight fabrics. Plus, some people prefer the chain option as it’s easier to clean than the cord. To accurately make your blind, we need to know whether you want to fit the blind inside or outside the window frame.

We usually add 100mm above the window frame for stacking, extra width either side of frame and below sill. When blinds are stacked up, they hang approximately 200 - 280mm long.
