Other useful tips to remember are:
- Gently dust your curtains on a regular basis – make sure to use the appropriate attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
- Never touch the curtain fabric with dirty hands as this may leave marks.
- When washing curtains, the preference is for a warm hand wash, or alternatively a cold gentle cycle on your washing machine. Do not soak, do not bleach and do not wring or rub.
- Remember to remove any hooks, rings, trims and accessories BEFORE you wash your curtains.
- Do not tumble dry. When drying your curtains it's best to rehang or drip dry in shade, fabric side down. Avoid using pegs or folding over the clothesline as this can leave marks.
- Warm iron on fabric side only.
For Your Blinds
Different types of blinds may require different types of cleaning, which we will explain to you. However, for ALL blinds to help maintain their quality and longevity, we recommend you regularly:
Dust – either with a feather duster, soft brush, cloth or in some cases (such as roller blinds) a vacuum cleaner.
Clean but don’t scrub – most types of blinds benefit from a gentle clean with a soft damp cloth. For spot cleaning, use a clean cloth with warm water and dab the spot but be careful not to rub or scrub the spot.
